Our team consists of professional counselors, educators, career coaches, interpreters, and professional advisors with at least 2 years of experience in their respected fields.

3. What are the counseling approaches at SUNNYCARE?

SUNNYCARE offers both individual and group counseling using several approaches, based on clients’ needs.

Option 1 - Via email: SUNNYCARE provides counseling via email for many clients who are students or workers, who are not ready to talk yet, or who are too busy to schedule a session.

With this form of counseling, clients can send their emails to sunnycare.psy@gmail.com.

Option 2 - Via mobile phone:

If the client is already seeing a counselor, they have the option of choosing telephonic counseling to save money. Aside from meeting face-to-face or calling our hotline, client can request to connect privately to a counselor’s phone number. With this option, client can connect to counselor from anywhere, at any time, for a reduced rate compared to other options.

Option 3 - On-site counseling at SUNNYCARE’s office: We always welcome clients to start counseling in a professional, open, and comfortable environment. For all clients, even those with financial struggles, we offer our best services based on clients’ needs, as stated in our missions.

4. Does SUNNYCARE provide Psychological First-Aid Services?

Psychological First-Aid Services was developed by the National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and is currently put into use by Red Cross, Red Crescent, Community Emergency Response Team, American Psychological Association, and is also practiced at SUNNYCARE.

5. Are the information on your site credible?

We always reference our information, taken from scientific and trustworthy sources.

6. Why don’t you provide counseling via Facebook Messenger? Isn’t it convenient?

There are two reasons for us to refrain from using Facebook Messenger in counseling. First, to avoid missing out on incoming requests/questions, as we receive a large amount of these every day. Second, to ensure that our clients’ information are kept confidential with their counselors.

7. How do I support SUNNYCARE ?

You can support us by doing any of the followings:

  • Respect and understand for other’s issues, avoid judgment, prejudice, or discrimination
  • Voice your concerns when there are people being treated badly or discriminated against
  • Support others with potential mental health issues
  • Donate to support us with our charity programs

9. I am not living in Vietnam, can I use SUNNYCARE’s services?

10. How much does it cost for your counseling services?

The fees for our services ranges from 3,000 VND to 9,000 VND per minute (with a reduced or free of charge in some cases), depends on the service option you choose.

11. I heard that SUNNYCARE provides counseling services for students at schools. Does it include counseling for the parents?

The goal of school counseling is to help students and parents resolve issues at school or at home. Therefore, parents can always request help when they need support.

12. My family needs help. Does SUNNYCARE provide Family Counseling?

SUNNYCARE provides counseling for both individuals and families. With families, we offer counseling at our office or at their own homes.


13. What is the Mental Health Care Gift that SUNNYCARE provides?

Our Mental Health Care Gift is a program aimed to provide mental health care as a meaningful gift for your family members, friends, or colleagues, as a practical to support or care for their wellbeing. 14. I would like to have an On-site Counseling session. Do I need to schedule in advance?

We always welcome you to have an on-site counseling session. In order for us to schedule a counselor that is suitable to help you, we kindly ask clients to call us at 028 7300 6848 to schedule an appointment. Our receptionist will assist you with any requests or questions prior to the counseling session.

15. When my child meets with a counselor, do I have the right to know what went on during the counseling session?

According to our code of ethics and confidentiality, all the information about our clients are kept confidential. However, there are situations when we will have to break confidentiality, including (1) when the client gives permission to share information, (2) when there is evidence that client might harm themselves or others, (3) when information are requested by court order. In this case, if your child is under 18 years old, parents or guardians have the right to know about the counseling session’s information.

16. I see people goes to counseling to seek advice for their problems, can I also seek advice about parenting at SUNNYCARE?

Counseling is a helping process between counselor and client, not particularly an advice-giving process. If you are having problems in parenting, our counselors can help you look into your parenting style to come up with more effective ways to raise your children.

17. Can young people with little experience in life provide quality counseling?

It cannot be denied that counselors with a lot of life experience can easily understand and empathize with clients’ problems. However, an older and more experienced counselor is not guaranteed to be a good counselor. To be a good counselor, one needs knowledge about their expertise, as well as good communication skills and counseling skills. They will also need to have the ability to listen to and empathize with clients, be genuine and have unconditional positive regards toward clients. Therefore, age or life experience do not decide the success of counseling.
